Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on February 14, 2025, issued the draft amendment to the ALMM order regarding the reduction of module efficiency thresholds for off-grid projects/applications like solar lamps, solar lights, solar street lights, solar fans, etc. other than solar-powered agricultural pumps and solar PV rooftops, requiring an individual capacity of each solar PV module deployed, to be of less than 200 Watt peak.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states that it sets minimum module efficiency for ALMM enlistment as 20% (utility/grid-scale), 19.5% (rooftop/solar pumping), and 19%–18% (solar lighting), varying by PV technology.

• It further states that the proposed ALMM enlistment efficiency thresholds are 20%/19% (utility/grid-scale), 19.5%/18.5% (rooftop/solar pumping), 18%/18% (off-grid under 200W in ALMM List-I DRE), and 19%/18% (other applications) for c-Si/CdTe modules, respectively.

• The comments and suggestions on the draft amendment to the ALMM Order may be sent latest by March 01, 2025, by email at [email protected]
