The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on February 17, 2025, notified regarding the Single Unified Multi-Purpose Electronic Bond in Customs-Ekal Anubandh.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Its "Ekal Anubandh" project aims to enhance efficiency and reduce administrative load by introducing a single All-India Multi-purpose Electronic Bond with end-to-end automation, replacing transaction-wise bonds across ports to save time and costs.
• The Single All-India Multipurpose Electronic Bond (SEB) allows importers/exporters to submit a common bond electronically via ICEGATE, enabling obligation selection, modification, e-stamp duty payment, e-signature execution via NeSL, and end-to-end online bank guarantee linking and verification.
• Further, it states that the "Ekal Anubandh" enables real-time tracking of electronic bonds and bank guarantees, reducing paperwork, expediting approvals, and promoting eco-friendly, cost-effective trade processes.
