The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD) on February 17, 2025, issued the Warehousing (Development and Regulation) Registration of Warehouses (Amendment) Rules, 2025, to further amend the Warehousing (Development and Regulation) Registration of Warehouses Rules, 2017.
This shall come into force on February 17, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• In rule 2, sub-rule (1), after clause (a), a new clause shall be inserted, namely:- “(aa) “Administrator Warehouse Service Provider” means any entity or person or warehouseman appointed by the Authority to take control of and manage, or take control and liquidate goods, under rule 35”.
• In rule 16, sub-rule (2), after clause (e), a new proviso shall be inserted, namely:- “Provided that the above requirement shall not apply to Administrator Warehouse Service Provider appointed by the Authority under Rule 35”.
• In rule 35, sub-rule (3), clause (b), the word “external person” shall be substituted with:- “Administrator Warehouse Service Provider”.
