The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on February 18, 2025, issued the Draft Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Amendment Regulations, 2025, to further amend the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling & Display) Regulations, 2020.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Regulation 5 which states “Labelling Requirements” the following has been inserted in sub regulation (3)(ii) namely: -
“(ii)(a) The information regarding per serve percentage (%) contribution to Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) be given in bold letters with relatively increased font size for added sugar, saturated fat and sodium content.”
• In schedule I, after para (2), the following shall be inserted, namely: -
“(3) All milk and milk products, including composite milk products, as per clause 5(a) of subregulation 2.1.1 under regulation 2.1 of Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011 shall carry the logo as specified”
