Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Government of Nagaland on February 11, 2025, issued a circular regarding the enforcement of Tax Filing and Payment Provisions for Petroleum Dealers.

The following has been stated: - 

•Jurisdictional Authorities are directed to enforce the following provisions under the Nagaland Petroleum Taxation Rules: 

1)Filing returns as per specified quarterly deadlines. 

2)Payment of tax within 21 days of each month, with the balance paid before filing quarterly returns. 

3)For return defaults, a 2% monthly penalty applies from the due date until payment or assessment. These rules aim to safeguard the state's revenue.
