The Ministry of Ayush (MoA) on February 19, 2025, issued the Draft Drugs (.........Amendment) Rules, 2025, to further amend the Drugs Rules, 1945.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that in the Drugs Rules, 1945, the proviso to rule 156 shall be omitted.
• It states tha the proviso to rule 156 A shall be omitted.
• It states that the proviso to the rule 157 (1C) shall be omitted.
• In sub-rule (1) of rule 161 after the existing proviso, a new proviso shall be inserted, namely:- “PROVIDED further that to ensure the readability, the label information or inserts should be of the font size of ‘nine-point’ and further the details of the ingredient may be displayed through QR code as an alternate option”.
• Any objections and suggestions on the draft rules may be sent to the Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, AYUSH Bhawan, ‘B’ Block, GPO Complex, INA, New Delhi – 110023 or emailed at [email protected] on or before March 21, 2025.
