The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on February 20, 2025, issued the amendments to DP Operating Instructions Annexure 11.1.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that failure to respond to depository surveillance alerts on time incurs a ₹500 penalty per alert, with an additional ₹1500 per fortnight of delay; if penalties reach ₹15,000 in six months, the matter is referred to the Member Committee.
• It further states that changes in the timelines for disposal of alerts by DPs from 30 days to 45 days (stipulated time) from the date of alerts sent to DPs by CDSL.
• The aforesaid penalty (non-compliance point) will be applicable for the alerts generated by CDSL with effect from April 1, 2025.
