The following has been stated: - 

•The Ministry of Mines has reclassified Barytes, Felspar, Mica, and Quartz from minor to major minerals as of February 20, 2025. This move aligns with the National Critical Mineral Mission, aiming to enhance the exploration and mining of critical minerals. 

•The change will ensure better extraction of critical minerals like Lithium and Beryl, which were previously overlooked. 

•Existing leases will not be affected, and the revenue will continue to go to state governments, with a four-month transition period until June 30, 2025.
