EHS ComplianceThe Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on December 23, 2024, issued the Draft Standard Operating Procedure for Setting Up & Operation of Secondary Storage & Transportation Facilities for Municipal Solid Waste.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The SOP for Secondary Storage & Transportation Facilities (SSTF) classifies facilities into Secondary Storage Facilities (SSF) for temporary storage of non-biodegradable, recyclable waste, and Secondary Transportation Facilities (STF) for direct transport of both biodegradable and recyclable waste without storage, using fixed or mobile equipment.

• It provides the Operation and maintenance measures to be adopted for the efficient operation of Secondary Storage and transportation Facilities (SSTF) and Solid Waste Management (SWM).

• Comments/Suggestions to these draft SOP by February 28, 2025, via email at [email protected], [email protected]
