The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on February 25, 2025, issued a notification regarding Telecommunication Equipment Standards and Certification.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Government has notified standards and conformity measures for specified telecommunication equipment under Section 19 of the Telecommunications Act, 2023.
•These standards, set by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre, will come into effect 180 days from the notification date.
•From that date, importing, selling, distributing, or using the listed equipment will require mandatory testing and certification.
