The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MoE&IT) on February 27, 2025, notified regarding the launch of Aadhaar Good Governance portal to streamline approval process for Aadhaar authentication requests.
The following has been stated namely: -
• This initiative aims to enhance ease of living, make services more user-friendly, and improve citizen-centric access to various services.
• The portal was established following the notification of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Amendment Rules, 2025, under the Aadhaar Act, 2016. This amendment aims to enhance transparency and inclusivity in decision-making processes.
• The portal serves as a comprehensive guide, providing detailed standard operating procedures for entities seeking Aadhaar authentication. It outlines the application and onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth experience. Additionally, private entities can integrate face authentication into their customer-facing applications, enabling anytime, anywhere authentication.
