Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on February 27, 2025, issued an addendum to Enhancement in UPI LITE Limits.

The following has been stated: - 

•The RBI's December 2024 circular enhances UPI LITE transaction limits to ₹1,000 per transaction and a total limit of ₹5,000. Replenishment of the limit can only occur online with AFA, and Auto Top-up options will be available. 

•Issuer banks must refund balances in dormant UPI LITE accounts (inactive for six months) by June 30, 2025. 

•All changes must be implemented immediately as per the NPCI circulars.
