The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on February 25, 2025, issued the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Fifth Amendment) Order, 2025, to further amend the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the amendment in Schedule VI- Against S.No. 81 in column 1, about entries, ‘(i) Citrus spp. (Lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, mandarins, etc. and other Rutaceous)’ in column 2 and about entries, ‘Fresh fruits for consumption’ in column 3, the entries in column 4, 5 & 6 shall be omitted as stated in the notification.
• It states that the amendment in Schedule VI- Against S.No. 81 81 in column 1, about entries, ‘(iv) Citrus sinensis (Orange)’ in column 2 and about entries, ‘Fresh fruits for consumption’ in column 3, the following entries in column 4, a new entry shall be inserted namely:- (ii) Spain.
