The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on February 28, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Special Festive Drive for Ensuring Food Safety, Quality and Prevention of Adulteration.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The "Holi-Anti-Adulteration Drive 2025" shall be initiated by States/UTs and Regional Offices of FSSAI to ensure stringent monitoring and proactive enforcement actions.
• Enforcement Officials (Designated Officers/Food Safety Officers/Central Food Safety Officers) may be directed to conduct inspections and sampling in their respective jurisdictions, intensifying vigilance to safeguard public health and curb any malpractices.
• Additionally, Food Safety on Wheels (FSW) and Food Safety Officers should be deployed at entry/exit points at borders, hotspots and other major clusters/markets for on-the-spot testing, enabling immediate enforcement action against any violations related to food safety and adulteration.
