The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on February 28, 2025, issued recommendations on the Framework for Service Authorisations to Enhance Telecommunications Services.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the TRAI has addressed the Department of Telecommunications' (DoT) feedback concerning its earlier recommendations dated September 18, 2024, on the framework for service authorisations under the Telecommunications Act, 2023.
• Initially, on June 21, 2024, the DoT sought TRAI's guidance on terms and conditions for telecommunication service authorisations. Following stakeholder consultations, TRAI submitted its recommendations.
• Subsequently, on January 14, 2025, the DoT provided its preliminary views and requested TRAI to reconsider certain aspects. TRAI has finalized its responses, which is now available on its official website.
