Secretarial ComplianceThe National Stock Exchange (NSE), on February 28, 2025, issued a notification regarding the Quantity Freeze Limits for Single Stock Derivatives and Indices.

As per Exchange Circular, the Exchange has decided to revise the quantity freeze limits for derivative contracts on Single Stock and Indices. These changes will come into effect from March 03, 2025.

The quantity freeze limits for Index Derivatives have been updated as follows:

For NIFTY, the new quantity freeze limit is 227. For NIFTYIT, the limit has been set at 26, while BANKNIFTY will have a limit of 43. Similarly, FINNIFTY will have a limit of 26, NIFTYNXT50 will be capped at 19, and MIDCPNIFTY at 93.

To ensure smooth trading operations, members must update their trading applications with the revised contract file before March 03, 2025. The updated file, ni_contract.gz, can be accessed from the directory /gtftp/gtcommon on the Extranet server.

Additionally, the detailed quantity freeze limits for each underlying will be available on the Exchange’s official website for reference. Members are advised to adhere to these updates to avoid any disruptions in trading.
