The Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) on February 18, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Distance criteria for specific industries.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Industry Type classification for the Pollution control measures and/or distance criteria is as follows: -
o Iron scrap shredding unit –
a. Distance criteria of 100 metres to nearby residence
b. Boundary setback 25 metres
c. Adequate control measures shall be provided to prevent noise pollution
d. Solid and other wastes mixed with the scrap, if any, shall be disposed properly.
o Furniture manufacturing or assembling units using MDF, particle board, novopan, plywood and other similar engineered wood (manufactured board) without planer, saw and grinders –
a. Distance criteria for Green category industries
b. Minimum boundary setback of 3 metres
