The Government of West Bengal on February 25, 2025, issued a notification regarding Waiver of Interest and Penalty for Tax Payments under GST.
The following has been stated: -
•The Governor of West Bengal has notified the dates by which tax payments for registered persons, as per notices, statements, or orders under sections 128A and 74 of the West Bengal GST Act, must be made to avail a waiver of interest or penalty. Registered persons with such notices or orders have until March 31, 2025, to make payments.
•For others, the payment deadline is six months from the issuance of the redetermining tax order.
This notification shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from November 01, 2024.
