Labour ComplianceThe Government of Madhya Pradesh on February 28, 2025, issued a notification regarding the Implementation of Revised Minimum Wage Rates as per High Court Order.

The Madhya Pradesh Government, Labour Department, issued a notification (No. F. 4 (th) 1/2014/A-16) on March 4, 2024, revising the minimum wages under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, effective from April 1, 2024. However, petitions challenging this revision were filed by the Madhya Pradesh Textile Mills Association and others before the Hon’ble High Court, Division Bench Indore.

On February 10, 2025, the High Court directed the State Government to initiate a fresh procedure under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, for certain scheduled employments (Textiles & Made-ups, Apparel Manufacturing, Footwear Manufacturing). Until the completion of this process, the pre-revision wage rates, including variable dearness allowance, will continue to apply in these industries.

For all other notified employments, the revised minimum wages from March 4, 2024, remain effective, along with the variable dearness allowance payable periodically. Employers must ensure compliance with these wage regulations immediately.
