The Multi Commodity Exchange Clearing Corporation Limited (MCXCCL) on March 07, 2025, issued a circular regarding revision in Threshold Limits for Concentration Margin.
The following has been stated: -
•The Multi Commodity Exchange Clearing Corporation Limited (MCXCCL) has revised the threshold limits for concentration margins for both non-agri and agri commodities, effective from March 14, 2025.
•Non-agri commodities qualify for concentration margin if their open interest exceeds 5% of the exchange's total open interest or meets specified thresholds. Agri commodities are subject to concentration margin if their open interest exceeds set thresholds.
•New or re-launched commodities must meet minimum open interest values of Rs. 250 crores or Rs. 500 crores, depending on their classification. The margin levies depend on the commodity's open interest, and additional rules for clearing members and clients are provided.
