Labour ComplianceThe Labour and Skills Department, Kerala on March 03, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Draft revision of wages payable to the classes of employees employed in the manufacture of Gold and Silver Ornaments sector.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The monthly and daily wages for the following Category of workers are as follows: -

o Group I - Highly Skilled Workers – 22,680 (Monthly) ; 870 (Daily)

o Group II - Skilled Workers - 

a. Group a – 21,360 (Monthly) ; 820 (Daily)

b. Group b – 20,040 (Monthly) ; 770 (Daily)

o Group III - Unskilled Workers – 

a. Group a – 18,740 (Monthly) ; 720 (Daily)

b. Group b – 17,940 (Monthly) ; 690 (Daily)

• The Piece rates working for the following have been stated namely: -

o Manufacture of Gold articles

o Manufacture of Silver shapes/ornaments/articles

• In addition to the basic wages, the workers shall be eligible for variable Dearness Allowance at the rate of 2.30 for daily waged workers and 60 for monthly waged workers for the increase in every point above 165 points in the series 2011-12=100 calculated on the basis of Consumer Price Index published 

• Piece rated workers are not eligible for Dearness Allowance as the wages fixed for them includes Dearness Allowance.

• If workers of any locality/establishment are being paid higher wages and benefits than the minimum rate of wages fixed as per this notification, they shall continue to enjoy such wages and benefits.

Proposal will be taken up for consideration on or after two months, Objections and suggestions may be sent to the Secretary to Government, Labour and Skills (E) Department.
