The Department of Power, Delhi on March 07, 2025, issued a notification regarding mandatory Energy Efficiency Standards for Government Buildings in Delhi.
The following has been stated: -
•The Lt. Governor of NCT of Delhi has mandated the use of energy-efficient BLDC fans, 5-star or above air conditioners, and other star-rated appliances in all new government buildings, institutions, boards, corporations, and autonomous bodies.
•For existing buildings, defective appliances must be replaced with energy-efficient models. Consumers and user departments may explore additional energy-efficient options after a cost-benefit analysis.
