Labour ComplianceThe Government of Kerala on March 05, 2025, issued a notification regarding draft revision of Minimum Wages and Dearness Allowance for Cane and Bamboo Industry Workers.

The following has been stated: - 

•The Government of Kerala has proposed revisions to the minimum wages for workers in the Cane and Bamboo Industry sector, effective under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.

•The proposal includes Dearness Allowance (DA) of ₹2.30 per day for every point above 165 in the Consumer Price Index, with a maximum of six DA payments per week for piece-rated workers. Workers receiving higher wages than the proposed minimums will continue to receive higher wages. 

•The monthly wage for daily-rated workers will be calculated by multiplying the daily rate by 26. Objections and suggestions to the proposal can be submitted within two months for consideration.
