The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on March 06, 2025, amended an older notification No. SRO 446 of 2019 dated July 12, 2019, related to the Building and Other Constructions Worker's (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996.
The following has been stated: -
•The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has amended notification SRO 446 of 2019. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister (Minister Incharge of Labour and Employment) are now designated as Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, respectively.
•Additionally, a representative from women construction workers, nominated by the CEO/Secretary of JKBOCWWB, is added as a member in entry 17.
