The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) on March 12, 2025, issued Mandatory Implementation of UDiFF Standardised File Formats by NSDL.
These changes relate to capturing information about POA (Power of Attorney) or DDPI (Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction) registration/deregistration dates.
The UDiFF catalogue available on the NSDL website provides details of the required formats and ISO tags. While the relevant fields were previously marked as optional or conditional, they will be made mandatory from the End of the Day (EOD) of March 28, 2025.
Participants are required to update their back-office systems to incorporate the field for capturing ‘Document Receive Date / BO Request Receive Date / POA or DDPI Registration - Deregistration Date’ (ISO Tag -RcvDt). It is noted that for client creation cases where the POA/DDPI registration request is received simultaneously, the POA/DDPI registration date will be treated as the client activation date.
No changes have been made to the file format of Power of Attorney (POA) downloads as previously informed in NSDL/POLICY/2024/0086 dated June 18, 2024. Participants must ensure their systems are updated with these requirements by March 27, 2025.
