Secretarial ComplianceThe National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) on March 11, 2025, notified regarding the Introduction of penalty and change in timelines for providing satisfactory responses to surveillance alerts sent by NSDL to Participants.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states that effective April 1, 2025, it has extended the timeline for Participants to respond to surveillance alerts from 30 to 45 days. Failure to provide satisfactory responses within this period will result in a penalty of ₹500 per alert, with an additional ₹1500 for every fortnight of delay. 

• It further states that if penalties reach ₹15,000 in six months, the matter will be escalated to the Member Committee. Participants must ensure timely responses to avoid penalties.
