The Government of Maharashtra on March 07, 2025, issued the Maharashtra Prohibition of Advertisements and Billboards inciting violence and sexual offences Bill, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It shall apply to the entire state of Maharashtra.
• It states that any advertisement containing text, images, gestures, or content that may incite sexual behaviour, provoke violent emotions, or influence individuals in a harmful manner is strictly prohibited.
• The ban applies to public displays, newspapers, drawings, paintings, figures, or any material used for commercial purposes.
