Industry Specific ComplianceThe Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on March 12, 2025, issued a direction under Section 16(5) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 regarding waiving of registration fees for Anganwadi [ICDS] Centers and introducing new 'KoB'.

The Food Authority has introduced a new Kind of Business (KoB) category for "Anganwadi [ICDS] Centres" under Food Services to facilitate the provision of supplementary nutrition to pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children. Anganwadi Centers will be exempt from registration fees and will be granted a five-year registration certificate, both for new registrations and renewals. This fee waiver will take effect immediately, but fees already paid for ongoing applications will not be refunded. A user manual for the registration process is available on the FoSCOS website.
