Madhya Pradesh Govt. issued the minimum wage payable in various scheduled employment

Labour ComplianceThe Government of Madhya Pradesh on March 06, 2025, issued the minimum wage payable in various scheduled employment.

The Hon'ble High Court, Division Bench Indore, stayed the revised minimum wage rates effective from April 1, 2024, through an order dated May 21, 2024, in WP No. 10772/2024. Based on an increase of 2 points in the All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the period January to June 2024, a revised variable dearness allowance (VDA) of Rs. 50 per month was announced from October 1, 2024.

Subsequently, the earlier notifications of September 30, 2024, were superseded by the revised minimum wage rates as per the Madhya Pradesh Government's notification dated March 4, 2024, effective from October 1, 2024, for most scheduled employments. The revised VDA, calculated based on the CPI increase of 2 points, resulted in an increase of Rs. 50 per month, with the total VDA now amounting to Rs. 2275 per month (or Rs. 87.50 per day) from October 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. The textile, apparel, and footwear manufacturing industries were excluded from this revision.

In light of the above, from October 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, the minimum wage payable in various scheduled employments including variable dearness allowance has been given in Schedule A, B, C, D,E and F.
