Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, (MoCAPD) on March 12, 2025, issued a notification for 3rd Reallocation of the Export Quota for Sugar Season 2024-25.

The Government of India has permitted the export of 10 LMT of sugar through letter number 1(1)/2025-SP dated January 20, 2025, detailing the modalities for export.

In accordance with clause '4' of the guidelines dated January 20, 2025, the Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) has allowed the exchange of export quota quantity with the monthly release quota. Requests and agreements between sugar mills for exchanging their export quantity and domestic monthly release quantity have been reviewed, and additional export quantity has been allocated, with corresponding adjustments made to the domestic quotas of the sugar mills, as outlined in the Annexure.
