Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Haryana on March 12, 2025, notified the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Travel Agents Bill, 2025.

The following has been stated-

•Mandatory Registration: All travel agents must obtain a registration certificate from the competent authority within three months of the Act's commencement, verified by police, and renewable every three years.

•Prohibition and Penalties: Operating without registration is punishable by imprisonment (2-7 years) and fines (₹2-5 lakh). Repeat offenses result in double penalties.

•Cancellation and Suspension: Registration can be cancelled or suspended for reasons like insolvency, human smuggling, forgery, or breach of conditions. Show cause notice and hearing are required before cancellation.

•Digital Process and Grievance Redressal: Registration and proceedings, including suspension/cancellation, are managed through a centralized web portal. Complaints can be filed with an Ombudsman for redressal.

•Protection Against Fraud: The Act aims to curb illegal immigration by unregistered agents exploiting unemployed youth, ensuring accountability, and providing legal measures against fraudulent practices.
