The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) on March 18, 2025, notified regarding the measures to prevent drug abuse and combat the illegal drug trade.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the Government has addressed drug abuse through the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), implemented initiatives like Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, rehabilitation centers, outreach programs, addiction treatment facilities, a toll-free helpline, and awareness campaigns for students, teachers, and parents.
• It states that the Government has combated illegal drug trade through NCORD, ANTF, NIA, border security forces, international collaborations, and intelligence-sharing with global agencies to enhance enforcement, coordination, and maritime security against drug trafficking.
