The Government of Nagaland on February 28, 2025, issued the Motor Vehicles (Amendment Rules), for Excluded Areas, Assam, 2025, in forced in the State of Nagaland to further amend the Motor Vehicles Rules, for Excluded Areas Assam, 1942, in forced in the State of Nagaland.
It shall extend to the whole State of Nagaland.
The following amendments have been stated namely: -
• Rule 49(d) which states “Choice Number Booking Fee” has been substituted namely: -
“(i) The fees for reservation of available registration number mark of one’s choice shall be Rs. 5000/- which shall be valid for a period of six months.
(ii) In the event the owner or the applicant fails to produce the Motor Vehicle for registration against the Choice Number booked by him, the Choice Number shall be free for booking by any applicant including the previous applicant on first come first basis, and the fees shall be as per the conditions mentioned above”
• Rule 52 which states “No Objection Certificate Fee” the sub-rule (d) has been substituted namely: -
“52(d). The Fee for grant of “No Objection Certificate” shall be Rs. 1000/- only for all types of vehicles”
• Rule 67 which states Application Fee, the sub-rule (a) has been substituted, namely:-
"67(a). Every application for a permit in respect of Transport Vehicle shall accompany by an application fee of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty) only."
These rules will come into force on February 28, 2025.
