The Government of Karnataka on March 18, 2025, notified the Universities of Agricultural Sciences (Amendment) Bill, 2025 to further amend the Universities of Agricultural Sciences Act, 2009.
The following has been stated:
•In section 7, after subsection (19), the following shall be inserted, namely:- “(20) To start or introduce new subjects or courses related to agriculture and allied subject such as artificial intelligence in agriculture, Climate Smart Agriculture, international agricultural marketing, value addition, entrepreneurship and Agri-Startup etc.,.”
•After section 9, the following shall be inserted, namely:- “9A. Transfer of certain colleges and Institution to the University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya.
•In section 12, in subsection (2), in clause (vi), after the words “Shivamogga” the words “and University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya”, shall be inserted.
•In section 67, in subsection (2), after clause (e), the following shall be inserted, namely:- “(f) Special Officer of any newly established University.”
