The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD) on March 21, 2025, notified regarding the Bureau of Indian Standards launch Annual Programme for Standardisation 2025-26.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that it will release its APS for the year 2025-26, focusing on developing new standards and revising existing ones. The process includes stakeholder consultations with ministries and industry associations and a digital interface for submitting and tracking proposals and this initiative aims to ensure the adoption of globally accepted quality standards across various sectors.
• It states that the emphasized the importance of active contributions from ministries and industry associations in the development of standards.
• It highlighted that the APS will address priority subjects, promote widespread adoption, and ensure seamless implementation of standards, particularly in the manufacturing and service sectors.
