Labour ComplianceThe Labour, Factories, Boilers & Insurance, Medical Services Department, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh on February 18, 2025, issued amendments in the Andhra Pradesh Shops & Establishments Rules, 1990.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Rule- 8-A shall be added “Appointment of Authorities and Appellate Authorities under Sub Section (6) of Section 61 and sub section (2) of Section 63 of the Act”.

• Rule: 8-B shall be added “Appeal on fines (Form of appeal, mode of submission and procedure to be followed by the appellate authority)”.

• Rule 34 – “Penalty for violation of Rules” shall be substituted. It states that an employer violating these rules may face a fine of up to ₹10,000 for the first offense and up to ₹20,000 for subsequent offenses, with appeals and authority procedures governed by Section 61(6), Section 63(2) of the Act, and Rules 8A and 8B.
