The Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoC&I) on March 25, 2025, notified regarding the boilers Bill, 2024 introduced in Lok Sabha.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Boilers Bill, 2024, introduced to replace the Boilers Act, 1923, aims to decriminalize 3 out of 7 offences, ensure speedy redressal for non-criminal offences, and remove obsolete provisions to enhance Ease of Doing Business and prioritize worker safety.
• It states that the Bill has been modernized for clarity, with provisions grouped into six chapters and a detailed enumeration of functions and powers of the Central Government, State Governments, and Central Boilers Board.
