The Government of Maharashtra on March 21, 2025, issued the Maharashtra Smallholder Farmers Pension (Grant of Pension) Bill, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that to receive a pension, a small landholding farmer shall be a Maharashtra resident for 15 years, own up to one hectare of land, not receive any government pension, have no agricultural yield for at least five consecutive years due to natural calamities, be below 65 years of age at the time of application, and will receive the pension for life.
• It states that a farmer fulfilling the conditions shall apply to the District Collector for a pension of at least ₹3,000 per month, which will be stopped if Section the conditions specified are violated.
