The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) on March 19, 2025, issued a notification regarding the mandatory registration for transplants on the NOTTO Portal and the requirement for data reporting to SOTTOs/ROTTOs.
The following has been stated: -
• NOTTO is responsible for maintaining the National Transplant Registry to monitor organ and tissue transplants, ensure transparency, and support equitable allocation.
• It states that many registered transplant hospitals have failed to submit the required data, hindering NOTTO’s ability to fulfill its obligations and promote organ donation. Recent communications from the Secretary of Health and the Director General of Health Services stress the need for improved data sharing and monitoring of transplant activities.
