The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) on March 21, 2025, issued a Draft (Engineering) Circular on LNG bunkering Guidelines.
The following has been stated: -
• Kindly send comments/inputs by April 04, 2025, to: [email protected] and cc to: [email protected]
• It applies to all ships calling Indian ports, regardless of their flag, LNG bunker suppliers, and all ports. It provides safety and operational guidelines for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering operations.
• Here are the following objectives:-
Defining clear permitting and licensing requirements for LNG bunkering facilities.
Establishing robust safety standards and operational procedures.
Implementing effective environmental protection measures to minimize impacts on air and water quality.
Developing workforce training and certification programs to ensure qualified personnel.
