Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Mines (MoM) on March 26, 2025, notified regarding the Global Safety Standards in Mining.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states that section 9B of the MMDR Act empowers State Governments to establish District Mineral Foundations (DMFs) for mining-affected areas, with PMKKKY ensuring fund utilization for development, while worker safety, health, and welfare are regulated by the Mines Act, 1952, and enforced by DGMS through inspections, safety protocols, and awareness initiatives.

• It states that the Central Government combats illegal mining through strict MMDR Act penalties, scientific mining regulations under M(CDR) 2017, and the Mining Surveillance System (MSS) using space technology for monitoring.
