The Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board (UKPCB) on March 03, 2025, issued a notification regarding the classification of Industrial Sectors into Red, Orange, Green, Blue, and White Categories.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Pollution Control Board has updated the classification of industrial sectors into Red, Orange, Green, Blue, and White categories for consent mechanisms, effective immediately.
•The new classification includes 359 sectors in total, with 107 in Red, 120 in Orange, 81 in Green, 51 in White, and 9 in Blue. Essential Environmental Services (ESS) sectors and infrastructure development sectors are also included.
•The updated categorization is now applicable across states.
