Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on April 04, 2025, issued the Draft CAR 21 - Certification Procedures for Aircraft and Related Products and Parts.

The following has been stated namely: -

• CAR 21 outlines procedures for type certification, airworthiness, noise, and export certificates and covers design, manufacturing, continued airworthiness, repairs, and approvals under Rules 133B and 49H.

• It provides the procedure for issuing type certificates for products and restricted type-certificates for aircraft and establishes the rights and obligations of the applicants for, and holders of, those certificates.

• It establishes the procedure for the approval of changes to type designs/type certificates and establishes the rights and obligations of the applicants for, and holders of, those approvals.

• Public comments on the draft shall be submitted by May 03, 2025, at [email protected].
