The Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (HPSPCB), on July 28, 2025, notified regarding the implementation of Revised Industrial Sector Categorization under CPCB Directions – Classification into Red, Orange, Green, White, and Blue Categories.
The following has been stated namely: -
• As per the committee's findings, the updated categorization results in the following changes:
• Red category: Increased from 125 to 126 sectors (addition of 1 sector)
• Orange category: Increased from 137 to 155 sectors (addition of 18 sectors)
• Green category: Increased from 94 to 116 sectors (addition of 22 sectors)
• White category: Increased from 54 to 57 sectors (addition of 3 sectors)
• Blue category: Remains at 9 sectors (no new additions)
