EHS ComplianceThe Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) on August 26, 2025, issued the simplified consent procedure for green category industries.

The following has been stated:

• No site visits/inspections will be required while processing Consent to Establish (CTE) or Consent to Operate/Renewal applications.

• Applications will be processed based on self-certification by the industry:
i) For CTE: certification of compliance with siting criteria and submission of building/development permission.

ii) For Consent to Operate/Renewal: certification of compliance with environmental norms and earlier consent conditions.

• Mandatory online submission through the Board’s consent management system; no physical documents will be accepted.

• The Board may still conduct random inspections/audits if there is credible information of non-compliance.

• The policy also applies to expansion projects within the Green Category.

• Regional and Sub-Regional Officers are instructed to implement these directions immediately.
