The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) on September 17, 2025, notified the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Authorizing Entities to Lay, Build, Operate or Expand City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks) amendment Regulations, 2025 to amend the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Authorizing Entities to Lay, Build, Operate or Expand City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks) Regulations, 2008.
The following has been stated: -
•In Regulation 2(1)(j), “Performance Bond” is defined to include Demand Draft, Pay Order, Bank Guarantee, or Insurance Surety Bond authorized by IRDAI.
•In Regulation 9(1), the phrase “in the form of demand draft or pay order or bank guarantee” is deleted.
•In Regulation 9(1), the term “PBG” is substituted with “Performance Bond.”
•In Regulation 9(1), references to “in case the performance bond is submitted through bank guarantee” and “guarantee (PBG)” are deleted.
They shall come into force on September 20, 2025.
