The Delhi Pollution Control Committee, on November 24, 2025, issued SOP/Guidelines for Mitigating Dust Pollution During Road Cutting.
The following has been stated:
1. Install 2-meter-high dust/wind barriers along road-cutting stretches where road width exceeds 18 meters.
2. Keep loose soil, sand, C&D waste, or dust-generating material covered and regularly wet by sprinkling.
3. Cover all stored dug-up material/soil with tarpaulin or green net.
4. Ensure all vehicles carrying construction material/debris are fully covered to prevent airborne dust.
5. Store all dug material/construction waste on-site and avoid dumping on roads, pavements, or undesignated areas.
6. Sprinkle water on unpaved or loose-soil surfaces to suppress dust.
7. Provide all workers with dust masks and necessary safety equipment.
8. Display the expected road restoration date and the responsible agency at the site.
9. Install proper traffic diversion and movement signage at every road-cutting stretch.
10. Ensure all haulage vehicles possess a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate.
