Industry Specific ComplianceThe Central Registry of Securitisation Asset Reconstruction and Security Interest (CERSAI) on December 03, 2025, issued the notification regarding the CKYC API and Bulk Search for Account Opening.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Some Reporting Entities (REs) are unable to retrieve CKYC records via the search function even when upload-stage matching confirms the record’s existence.

• The best practice is to integrate CKYC Search API directly into the customer onboarding process, enabling real-time retrieval of existing CKYC data and reducing the need for customers to resubmit documents unless updates are required.

• CKYC APIs offer fast response times (0.2 seconds), allow up to 20 requests per second per IP, and provide comprehensive KYC details such as name, father’s name, age, photo, OVD list, and record update/create dates.

• REs can design systems to trigger multiple parallel search requests from a single customer input, consolidate results into one view, and even automate KYC record downloads—significantly improving efficiency and reducing onboarding turnaround time.

• Customers may be encouraged to obtain their CKYC number through services like missed call, View Your Card, or DigiLocker; meanwhile, REs not yet integrated with APIs may use bulk search via SFTP for backend operations.
