Industry Specific ComplianceThe Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on December 31, 2025, notified regarding the Lending and Deposit Rates of Scheduled Commercial Banks for December 2025.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Data on lending and deposit rates of Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) for December 2025 indicate mixed movements in interest rates. The weighted average lending rate (WALR) on fresh rupee loans increased to 8.71% in November 2025 from 8.61% in October 2025, while the WALR on outstanding loans marginally declined to 9.21%. 

• The 1-year median MCLR moderated to 8.45% in December 2025, reflecting easing funding costs, and the share of EBLR-linked loans rose to 64.8% of outstanding floating-rate loans, indicating faster policy transmission. 

• On the deposit side, the weighted average domestic term deposit rate on fresh deposits edged up to 5.59%, whereas the rate on outstanding deposits declined to 6.73% in November 2025.
