The Government of Karnataka, on December 29, 2025, issued a notification publishing the draft Karnataka Animal Feed (Regulation of Manufacture and Quality Control) Rules, 2025 under section 30 of the Karnataka Animal Feed (Regulation of Manufacture and Quality Control) Act, 2025, for public information and stakeholder consultation.
The draft rules lay down a comprehensive regulatory framework governing the manufacture of animal feed, including definitions, licensing procedures, fee structure, conditions for grant and renewal of licences, online processing of applications, monthly returns, and recognition of existing licences issued under earlier laws. The rules also define the powers and functions of the Controlling Authority, Licensing Authority, and Expert Committee to ensure quality standards, supervision, monitoring, and capacity building across the State.
Stakeholders and affected persons may submit objections or suggestions on the draft rules within fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. Representations may be addressed to the Secretary to the Government, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department, Vikasa Soudha, Bengaluru.
